Its' been another amazing week in class bet.
This past week learned about our emotions. We discussed with the children that emotions are feeling we feel inside in different situations. We focused on happiness, sadness, worry, and frustration. During our meeting the children shared with the friends what makes them feel happy, sad, worried or frustrated.
Here are some of the thoughts that were shared:
Isaac: "I'm happy when I see my Mommy".
Arieh: " I worry when I can't see my Mommy in the store".
Geffen: "My grandparents are cute, and when they came I was happy. Now I see them on Skype and I'm also happy".
Evan: "I'm sad when I can't see my Mommy".
Chloe: "I'm happy with a lollipop".

After learning and speaking about how we feel, we discussed that our face expresses to other people how feel. We looked at various pictures of people and we were able to figure out how they feel.

Self-Portraits:

There were a few steps before illustrating our self-portraits.
There were mirrors available in several centers of our class for our friends to analyze their faces and features.
In the art center there were mirrors with paint to draw what they see on their face.

Working on their self-portrait:

Noa Mofaz added eyebrows and lipstick to her self-portrait.

Having Fun in the Snow!

we brought some snow into our class.

Creative Chefs:

We celebrated Noa's third birthday during our Shabbat party.
Noa's parents joined us for Noa's special party, as her Mommy lit the Shabbat candles and her Daddy read us a story.
We would like to wish Noa a happy birthday, may she grow to be happy and healthy, giving her parents much nachat.

Opening up Noa's present to the class in honor of her birthday, thank you!

Fire Safety Unit

Following the week of Chanukah, we took the opportunity to do a unit on fire safety.
On Monday, we looked around in our class and saw the alarms installed, we discussed what do we do in case of a fire emergency, that we call 911, we leave the house right away, laying low and walking (not running) to the exit. We did a fire drill with all the children in school.

Fire safety drill: we are practicing stop, drop  and roll.

Art:
The children used colors or yellow, red, and to represent the colors of fire. The children used water to bleed the color from the tissue paper onto the paper.

Fire Station Trip:
The trip was definitely the week highlight. The children were really excited to visit the fire station and see real firemen, fire engines, fire gear, and they also sprayed a real fire hose.
We would like to thank Chloe's Mom and Noa's nanny for joining us and helping us on this trip.

Before going, we asked the children to predict what they would see at the fire station:
Sam- big ladder
Arieh- fire and fire trucks
Isaac- pumpkins and hose
Chanah- pumpkins and fire trucks
Evan- water
Jo Jo- Cookie
Chloe- pumpkins and fire
Noa M.- water

Diana's dad was our special guest!  He read a book to the friends during snack time.

The friends formed Hebrew letters with model magic clay.

Yoga:
Take a look at the first two photos how the children help each other  balance. How precious!

Mazal Tov! Isaac became a big brother to a beautiful baby boy. Isaac was so excited to show his friends pictures of his new baby and said that he will take care of his brother and sing him "Twinkle, twinkle little star" to calm him down.
